When Your Credit Card is Charged - Your Credit Card is not charged until the day your order is packed for shipping.
Accuracy - With the end of Selective Availability, you can expect horizontal accuracy of 15' - 40' for 12 parallel channel units. For altitude you can expect accuracy to range from +/- 50' for 12 parallel channel units. Units with WAAS can provide accuracy to within 3 meters. Return to Top.

Loading Maps to Your GPS - The only software that will allow you to load maps to your mapping GPS is the respective manufacture's own mapping software. i.e. Garmin MapSource CD-ROMs for compatible Garmin mapping GPSs, Lowrance IMS MapCreate CD-ROMs for compatible Lowrance mapping GPSs and Magellan DataSend CD-ROMs for compatible Magellan mapping GPSs. Mapping software by DeLorme, National Geographic TOPO!, Wildflower TOPO!, TrailSmart, and ALL TOPO MAPS does NOT allow you to upload map detail to your GPS but does allow you to exchange waypoints, routes and tracks between your GPS and the mapping software. Mac Compatibility - The National Geographic TOPO! State Series is available in both PC Windows and a Mac versions. Other software might be run under a windows emulator on the Mac. Check with the manufacturer of the software to see if the one you are interested in has been tested under a Windows emulator. Card Size - See MapSource
Product Sizes chart for map size of MapSource product you want to use the
data card with. Data Cards are only compatible with certain units - see MapSource
/ Data Card Compatibility Chart. To estimate the number of maps a Garmin
data card will hold divide the data card size by the average* map size. This
estimate is subject to the following limits:
Original StreetPilot Monochrome and StreetPilot
ColorMap - 50 map limit
StreetPilot III - 650 map limit
All other Garmin units that accept Garmin data cards -
525 map limit.
* Individual map sizes can vary greatly from "average" map size.
