The pocket-sized GlobalMap 100 features a built-in background map of
the world with enhanced detail of lakes, rivers, streams and highways in
North America, including the 48 contiguous U.S. States, Northern Mexico,
the Bahamas, Hawaii and Southern Canada.
The optional IMS MapCreate 4 CD-ROM allows the user to upload
either IMS WorldMap data or choose from the highly detailed
digitized IMS SmartMap database with such features as U.S.
marine navigational aids, streams, coastline detail and other water
bodies for the boater and angler; or U.S. city streets, state and
federal highways, rural roads and railroads for land-based
applications The GlobalMap 100 also utilizes optional Navionics® map
databases for exceptional marine coverage.
The GlobalMap 100 sports a backlighted, high definition Film
SuperTwist display for exceptional screen contrast and visibility;
with 160 x 104 pixels for outstanding graphics detail and resolution. The
GlobalMap 100 further provides cutting-edge GPS software including the
unique initialize from map feature, sunrise/sunset and lunar
tables, programmable windows, estimated position error
readings, emergency nearest waypoint feature, a project waypoint feature
for determining unknown coordinates, a position averaging feature to help
offset accuracy degradation from Selective Availability, instant zoom
display ranges with dedicated zoom keys, audible alarm, and much more.
Lowrance’s 12 parallel channel GPS receiver gives the GlobalMap 100
lightning-fast position fixes and extreme reliability under all
conditions. While only three satellites are required for a position fix,
Lowrance's GlobalMap 100 utilizes nine additional channels to lock-on to
any visible satellites and then compares this data with data from the
original three satellites. The unit then over-resolves a solution,
creating an accuracy-enhanced reading. No receiver is capable of
maintaining satellite fix more reliably than the GlobalMap 100.
The GlobalMap 100 is external antenna capable and includes over 100
map Datums plus UTM, MGRS, British, Irish, German, Taiwan, Swedish,
Finnish, Swiss and New Zealand grid reference systems. The GlobalMap 100
is completely sealed and waterproof to withstand even the harshest
of environmental conditions and is backed by a Full One-Year Warranty.
