The compact GlobalMap 1600 displays a brilliant built-in
background map of the world with enhanced detail of lakes,
rivers, streams, ponds, highways and roadways in North America, including
the 48 contiguous U.S. States, Northern Mexico, the Bahamas, Hawaii and
Southern Canada, for true ease-of-use navigation. Lowrance has even
included a built-in database of U.S. Navigation Aids to display lighted
and unlighted buoys, navigation lights, day beacons, radio beacons and
drilling platforms.
For unparalleled mapping versatility and detail, the built-in map
database can be easily expanded and supplemented with Lowrance's
revolutionary IMS MapCreate™ Marine and
Recreation CD-ROM - included FREE!
The IMS MapCreate Marine and Recreation CD-ROM includes IMS
WorldMap data and the highly detailed digitized IMS
SmartMap® database with such features as U.S. marine
navigational aids, streams, coastline detail and other water bodies, U.S.
city streets, state and federal highways, rural roads and railroads.
With the GlobalMap 1600 and our innovative MapSelect™ and MapCreate™
software features and a PC, you have the power and flexibility to easily
download up to two additional megabytes of map overlay detail
into your unit. The GlobalMap 1600 also utilizes Lowrance format Navionics®
map databases for exceptional marine coverage.
The GlobalMap 1600 includes all the accessories you need
for instant, out-of-the-box navigation. The IMS
MapCreate™ Marine and Recreation CD-ROM, new
upload/download waypoint management software and a data
transfer cable with AC adapter are included with
the unit.
For lightning fast position fixes, superior accuracy and unmatched
reliability, the GlobalMap 1600 features a 12 parallel channel
GPS receiver. A compact, low profile, external GPS antenna is
included, complete with pole and magnetic mounting options.
The GlobalMap 1600 has a massive memory for storing up to 1,750 total
position points; 750 waypoints and 1,000 graphic event
markers with 28 different icon symbols to choose from,
for creating custom, easily identifiable on screen graphics to highlight
the map database. The unit also stores up to three retraceable
plot trails (two indexable plus current) of up to 3,000
points per trail, and up to 99 different routes
to navigate the most challenging journeys. And rest assured that when you
need access to stored information, it will be there thanks to our 10-year
internal lithium battery back-up.
For exceptional screen resolution and visibility, the GlobalMap 1600
boasts a doublewide 160 x 160 Film SuperTwist display
with cold-cathode backlighting, delivering crisp,
clean, high-contrast viewing from any angle.
The GlobalMap 1600 also contains easy-to-use, cutting edge GPS
software. Included are a unique "initialize from map"
feature; Point-and-Map Navigation and Route planning;
sunrise/sunset and lunar tables; estimated
position error readings; a "Project Waypoint"
feature for determining unknown coordinates; a "Position
Averaging" feature to help offset accuracy degradation from
Selective Availability (SA); instant zoom display ranges with dedicated
zoom keys, audible alarms, and much more.
Backed by Lowrance's Full One-Year Warranty, the GlobalMap 1600 comes
with a custom hard-sided carrying case, and is waterproof
and sealed to withstand the harshest of environments.
